LEEK

Golly. Hrm. That's a tough question. I guess I just find vegetables inherently interesting and amusing. In fact, when we had to film a video in high school for my Spanish class, my friends and I made one about a serial killer who killed people with vegetables.

Leek? I think I like the way the name sounds. It's short and sweet and gets right to the point. I was on the chat program I use, and someone declared that they could turn me into whatever I wanted.. and I chose a leek. Spur-of-the-moment thing. What can I say.

leek harvesting leeks! It certainly has stuck, though. Granted, the people in my geekling community tend to address one another by their geek nicknames quite often. But mine is particularly used. I think for the same reasons I mentioned in the paragraph above.

I guess it's a good thing that I picked a name that I like, because I now get called that in public, at work, in front of my parents, etc.

The only thing wrong with it is that people keep thinking my nickname is "leak" when they hear it out loud. An interesting nickname, to be sure.. but not at all the same.
