PLATE II- The Wight

fter account Krom convinced me that mtrek was how I should waste the fall quarter of my freshman year, I needed an account of my own. I recall sitting in the Stevenson dining hall with he and falcon thinking about potential names. I actually selected 'elric' (under the evil influnce of trashy fantasy) as my desired login name and 'banshee' was only given as an alternate.

Banshee came from an incarnation of my punk band from '85, 'Limbo Banshees' (printed in the pink section as "Limbo Branches" *sigh*), which in turn came from some wretched beat poetry a friend and I had written as a joke in high school english class: "burning sun a soup pan ladle, limbo banshee's howling..."

Elric turned out to be this huge guy who also lived in Parrington who would get very irate when I'd post under the byline Elric to whatever local forum we used in '86. It wasn't until later that my obnoxiousness swelled to embrace the full possibility of banshee.
